Sleep Deprivation Experiment.

Assalamualaikum.
At last.
A week without off days has passed.
With two off days for this week
It's the best time to sit back
and relax
and probably do a lil bit of preparations
acquired for degree studies
this month of nine.

Accidentally
the writer may have tried
an experiment on himself
about what would happen if he gets
inadequate sleep
The objective
is to investigate the effect of sleep deprivation
on one's physical & mental condition

Hacker.

Assalamualaikum. Oh, these few days back have witnessed the country's being loud with this news of hackers making havoc by shutting down the government web services. Well, as a commoner, I'm on the middle side. Being neutral & everything, that's my stand.

Not my pic.

Yet, I think, we need to get back to basics. For the sake of general knowledge. What is a hacker & what does they do? How to become one? How did it start at the first place? Is it good or is it not? Again, I'm back to my Googling activities to find out these:

When did people learn to hack?

Hacking has been around for more than a century. In the 1870s, several teenagers were flung off the country's brand new phone system by enraged authorities. Here's a peek at how busy hackers have been in the past 35 years.

Early 1960s
University facilities with huge mainframe computers, like MIT's artificial intelligence lab, become staging grounds for hackers. At first, "hacker" was a positive term for a person with a mastery of computers who could push programs beyond what they were designed to do.

Early 1970s

John Draper makes a long-distance call for free by blowing a precise tone into a telephone that tells the phone system to open a line. Draper discovered the whistle as a give-away in a box of children's cereal. Draper, who later earns the handle "Captain Crunch," is arrested repeatedly for phone tampering throughout the 1970s.

To my feet, Sorry for Abusing You.

Assalamualaikum. Since little, errr. Since adolescence, to be precise, I've been using this feet too much, I guess. Thanks to these pair of feet, I can make it to all the camps, jamborees & expeditions. not to forget I've stepped at most parts of Melaka, Puncak Alam, KL & Selangor too, as well as more to come in future, thanks to them. Yet, as their owner, I think I'm being mean to them. Truthfully, sometimes I do have bad feet day like foot odour, blisters & so on & so forth which I think is not as bad as these two.

As the awareness arrives, I did my findings & as a result, I extracted this :

Why do my feet smell?
The culprits in foot odor are sweat eating bacteria.
The problem begins when bacteria become attracted to the sweat on your feet and start feeding on it.
The bacteria's excretion has a strong odor that causes your feet to smell bad.
Since each foot has over 250,000 sweat glands in it, and produces over a pint of sweat a day there's a lot for the bacteria to eat.
What makes the situation worse are shoes and socks which trap the sweat on your skin. Now the bacteria have their favorite kind of environment: dark and damp, causing them to go into a feeding frenzy. More waste is excreted, and when you take off your socks and shoes, your nose is presented with the results!

Limb Length Discrepancies.

Assalamualaikum. The question's been longing to linger in my mind ever since last year. Credits to a friend that brought out the question, which I forgot to find the answer until now. Well, that question is, do left foot & right foot possess different, unequal lengths?

This friend of mine, brought the question for he can feel that when he wears a pairs of trousers, his left side (if I'm not mistaken) is somehow rather longer than the right side till the left side of the pants can even sweep the floor.

As I remembered the question, I managed to do some Googling, & here's what I found :

Differences between the lengths of the upper and/or lower arms and the upper and/or lower legs are called limb length discrepancies (LLD). Except in extreme cases, arm length differences cause little or no problem in how the arms function. This article, therefore, will focus on length differences in the legs.

A limb length difference may simply be a mild variation between the two sides of the body. This is not unusual in the general population. For example, one study reported that 32 percent of 600 military recruits had a 1/5 inch to a 3/5 inch difference between the lengths of their legs. This is a normal variation. Greater differences may need treatment because a significant difference can affect a patient's well-being and quality of life.

To wear a Wristwatch.

Assalamualaikum. On the other day, I've been told that it is better to wear your wristwatch on the right hand, regardless if you're right-handed or left-handed. It is said that wearing wristwatch on your left hand could possibly bring not-so-healthy effect to your heart. Well then, thanks to the curiosity, I try googling for it (Hey, is there such term?) & guess what?

I'm right-handed, and my watch feels more comfortable on my right wrist, but I've heard that I should wear it on my left wrist so the watch or the movement doesn't get damaged. Does it matter?
— Aaron Sherman, Davis, Calif.
I've heard that, too, but I don't think that's the whole story. Seems to me we've historically worn watches on our left wrists because they're easier to wind with our dominant right hands. This is, of course, irrelevant if one's watch is automatic. Or if it's quartz, driven by battery. Or if one is left-handed, in which case it's whatever the hell makes him most comfortable. It's also worth noting that a lot of watchmakers — Seiko, Panerai, and TAG Heuer among them — make lefts, or watches made with the movement reversed so the crown is placed at the nine-o'clock position instead of the normal three o'clock. I still wouldn't advise wearing it on the basketball court.
